This training should be given to employees whose work could foreseeably disturb the fabric of a building and expose them to asbestos or those who organise, supervise or influence the work, as described in the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
Overview of the properties of asbestos and effects on health; the types, uses and likely occurrence of asbestos in buildings and plant; understand, describe and action measures to avoid risks from asbestos e.g. building work or through intrusion or disturbance of the fabric of the building; read and understand the different types of asbestos surveys; implement the corporate asbestos management arrangements (and new documentation) and know where to find out further information about this; describe and implement the general procedures to followed in an emergency
This course will ensure you can effectively support the County Council in complying with their legal duties; be aware of your responsibilities; be able to understand and implement the asbestos management plan for your premises and determine when to take action.
By the end of the training, delegates will be able to: 1. Describe the properties of asbestos and the effects on health. 2.
