Preparing for KS1 Statutory Assessment for teachers who taught Y2 in 2017-18

Half day for experienced Year 2 teachers (who taught Y2 in 2017-18) focusing on end of KS1 tests and teacher assessment for 2019

Outline

This course is designed to give Year 2 teachers, who completed statutory assessment in 2017-18, an up-to-date knowledge of assessment and a clear understanding of statutory requirements at the end of KS1 for 2019. It will focus on providing key updates on the teaching, learning and assessment of reading, writing and mathematics within the current assessment frameworks. Procedural aspects of the 2019 assessments will also be addressed.

Description

The topics covered will include:
  • updates regarding KS1 statutory requirements, procedures and assessment responsibilities
  • teacher assessment frameworks and tests at the end of KS1 2019
  • key updates relating to reading, writing and mathematics in KS1

Outcomes

As a result of attending, delegates should:
Leave confident that they know and understand the statutory requirements for end of KS1 assessment in 2019 for English and mathematics
Have an updated knowledge of quality resources and effective teaching, learning and effective assessment strategies to impact on raising standards in English and mathematics in KS1.

We recommend that you book your place on this event as soon as possible to ensure a place is available, and so that suitable resources and any special dietary requirements can be provided for you.

We know that if you have booked onto an event you will usually have arranged cover and be looking forward to the day. However, if circumstances change and you find you will be unable to attend a session you are booked onto please cancel via www.nyeducationservices.co.uk as soon as possible. You will not be expected to incur the course fee if Ofsted are inspecting your school on the date of the event. However, if a place is cancelled for any other reason schools will be charged the full fee if a place is cancelled within 21 days of the event.

Please be aware that some venues will not be able to honour requests for special requirements (e.g. dietary) if you have not booked a place more than 10 days before an event/network.
