This course is designed to give Year 2 teachers, who completed statutory assessment in 2017-18, an up-to-date knowledge of assessment and a clear understanding of statutory requirements at the end of KS1 for 2019. It will focus on providing key updates on the teaching, learning and assessment of reading, writing and mathematics within the current assessment frameworks. Procedural aspects of the 2019 assessments will also be addressed.
The topics covered will include:
- updates regarding KS1 statutory requirements, procedures and assessment responsibilities
- teacher assessment frameworks and tests at the end of KS1 2019
- key updates relating to reading, writing and mathematics in KS1
As a result of attending, delegates should: Leave confident that they know and understand the statutory requirements for end of KS1 assessment in 2019 for English and mathematics Have an updated knowledge of quality resources and effective teaching, learning and effective assessment strategies to impact on raising standards in English and mathematics in KS1.
