The statutory framework states – On-going assessment is an integral part of the learning and development process. It involves practitioners observing children to understand their level of achievement, interests and learning styles, and to then shape learning experiences for each child reflecting these observations. This course will enable you to meet these requirements.
The topics covered include Role of the adult. Key features of high quality observation. Using observation to inform planning.
As a result of attending, delegates should:
- Understand the importance of observation and recognise when significant learning is taking place.
- Recognise high quality observations and how to plan for individual children from this.
- Be able to make assessments against the Early Years Outcomes and track children's progress.
